Puppy update

Bear is doing well, for now. They gave him baby food late last night and he's kept it down, which is great news, although he hasn't passed it through yet. His protein levels were low and the Vet was concerned about the rate at which he'll be able to heal, so DH authorized the plasma drip.

When we transferred him from Emergency Care to the Vet Clinic this morning, he was fidgety in the car. There was a reason. When we put him down on the floor at the Clinic he walked around (wobbling a bit), sniffing things. You won't believe how happy we were to see him piddle and act puppy like, although he's still significantly weaker than he should be. There's a chance that he'll be able to come home with us tonight. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be busy getting the house ready in the afternoon. It's like having to toddler-proof our home. WishBone definitely knows something is up. DH is confident WishBone will adjust just fine. It's not like he hasn't seen Bear before; we usually had him over at my mom's when we go on vacation. That's not happening anymore, obviously.

DH and I are impulsive, but something made us reconsider taking Bear to the shelter and we're going to follow that instinct and love this dog like he deserves.
